When you numb out the emotions which make you feel uncomfortable, you block yourself off from your authentic self.

Read that again...

Numbing might look like: grabbing your phone when there's a silent moment; scrolling on social media when you feel 'bored'; binge watching Netflix; comfort eating; drinking; not allowing time to be still; always being busy; the only time you rest is when you sleep, etc.

Do you ever numb out uncomfortable emotions? Even boredom? I wonder what you could be learning about yourself in that moment if you chose to sit with it rather than engaging in mindless activity...

Try giving yourself more time to be still and to listen in. I know it can feel scary but outside of that comfort zone is where growth occurs.
